Getting Started

How does Incog Swap work?+

Incog Swap is a privacy-first cross-chain swap aggregator. We scan connected swap providers in real time, compare routes, and let you create a non-custodial order with the provider you choose. Funds go directly to the provider — Incog Swap never touches them.

Do I need an account?+

No. No sign-up, no KYC, no wallet connection. Email is optional and is only used for order updates if you provide one.

Is Incog Swap custodial?+

No. Incog Swap is fully non-custodial. Deposits go directly to the selected provider, and the provider sends the output to your destination address.

Which wallets can I use?+

Any self-custodial wallet that holds the asset you want to send and can receive the asset on the destination network. There is no wallet connection step — you paste your destination address.

swaps

Swaps

What is a fixed rate?+

A fixed-rate swap locks the receive amount for the quote window. As long as your deposit arrives before expiry, the provider commits to that amount. Fixed rates carry a small premium to cover the lock.

What is a floating rate?+

A floating-rate swap quotes an estimated receive amount that can move slightly with the market before the swap completes. Floating routes are typically cheaper and have lower minimums.

Why did my receive amount change?+

On floating-rate orders the final amount can move with the market between deposit and settlement. On fixed-rate orders the amount only changes if the deposit arrived outside the locked window.

What happens if I send the wrong network?+

Send only the exact asset on the exact network shown on the order page. Funds sent on a different network may be unrecoverable. If a deposit arrives outside the expected window the provider will attempt a refund to your refund address.

Why is a provider unavailable?+

A provider is hidden when it does not support your specific token/network pair, when the amount is outside its min/max, when its rate mode (fixed/floating) is unsupported for that pair, or when its API is temporarily unreachable. Only routes that can actually create an order are shown.

Why do some providers have different rates?+

Each provider sources liquidity differently and applies its own spread and fees. We sort by receive amount so the best route is always at the top.

orders

Orders

Where do I send funds?+

Send the exact send amount, on the exact network, to the deposit address shown on your order page. The page also shows a scannable QR code.

How do I track my swap?+

Every order has a private tracking link. Open it any time to see status, deposit address, expected receive amount, expiry timer and provider order ID.

Why is my swap waiting for deposit?+

The provider has not yet detected your transaction on-chain. Most networks confirm within minutes; congested networks can take longer. The page polls automatically.

What happens if my order expires?+

If no deposit is detected before expiry the order is closed. Just rescan and create a new order — no funds are lost because nothing was sent.

How do refunds work?+

Set a refund address when you create the order. If the deposit arrives outside the expected window or the swap cannot complete, the provider refunds to that address.

emails

Emails

When will I receive email updates?+

If you provided an email, you get notifications for order created, deposit detected, exchanging, completed, failed, expired and refunded events from no-reply@incogswap.org.

Why did I not receive an email?+

Check spam and ensure no-reply@incogswap.org is allow-listed. Some providers (notably Proton) may aggressively filter — try a different inbox if needed. Your order tracking link always works without email.

Can I change my email after creating an order?+

Not directly. The original email stays bound to the order. You can keep using the tracking link without email at any time.

privacy & security

Privacy & Security

Does Incog Swap store my funds?+

No. Funds go directly to the selected provider's deposit address. Incog Swap never has custody.

Does Incog Swap ask for seed phrases?+

Never. We do not ask for seed phrases, private keys, or wallet signatures. Anyone asking for them in our name is a scam.

Are wallet addresses stored securely?+

Destination and refund addresses are stored only as needed to create and track the order, and are scoped to the single-use tracking token.

Are API keys exposed?+

Provider API keys live only in server-side environment variables. They are never sent to the browser or included in any client bundle.

revenue / fees

Revenue / Fees

Does Incog Swap charge fees?+

Incog Swap earns a small affiliate share from providers. There are no extra surcharges added on top of the rate you see.

Are fees included in the rate?+

Yes. The receive amount shown already includes the provider's network and service fees.

Why do provider rates differ?+

Different providers source liquidity from different markets and have different spreads. That is why we aggregate — you always see the best available rate first.
